RICK HAYS & AMERICAN STEEL BIO
Rick Hays & American Steel released their first full CD “Who’s
Your Cowboy Now?” on June 2002. The CD is full of a variety
of songs that make you; Laugh (Loser Boozer, & Who’s
Your Cowboy Now?) Cry (You Can’t Love Me Like You Used
To “which features Lacy J. Dalton”, & Call On
Me), Want To Make Love (Little Cards and Letters) and songs that
make you want to Stand Up And Cheer (Hey).
On Jun 17, 2005 The
band released their next CD “NEVADATUDE.” .
There are some crowd favorites such as “Wrong Way” a
story about a man who makes some poor choices, going the wrong
way on a one way road. “Bring It On Home,” is a story
about a Man who tells how lucky he is to have a loving Woman
who will tell him, “Bring It On Home,” at the end
of a hard day. “Inside Out,” tells what it is like
to have someone look so deeply into you they see everything,
and “Autumn Leaves” which is a ballad about lost
love and the turning of the colors. The band also has welcomed
their newest member Chris Lapin into the group. Chris is an incredible
keyboardist, harmonica player and vocalist, who shares the same
passion about music as the rest of the group. Chris joined the
group Dec 1, 2005. His talents definitely help keep the band
at the top.
The band has not only had luck with their music, and
their fans, but have also been noticed by 94.5FM Cub Country
Radio, who have made Rick Hays & American Steel their Official
House Band. Next came the attention of Coors Brewing Company,
and New West Distributing who now sponsor the band as well. Next
came Capital Ford, who stood behind the band, and now the band
drives a brand new F-250 Turbo Diesel Ford truck from Capital
Ford to each show and enjoy sharing all of the great Coors beverages
with all of their great fans! Of course, the drive to and from
the show is great when they turn on their radio, and listen to
94.5FM Cub Country Radio. After all of that, it is definitely
showtime. If you want to hear the band at home, or find out the
show schedule, you can find the band’s web site, www.RickHays.com
Of course you can always see the band every other month at their
home club “Pure
Country Dance Hall & Saloon in Sparks, Nevada.
In August
2005, the band caught the attention of University of Nevada,
Reno (UNR) football coach Chris Ault. The coach liked the title
track of the CD, “NEVADATUDE,” and decided
he wanted that song to be used for the UNR football team. So,
he asked Rick and the guys to go back in the studio and do a
re-write of the lyrics to better match the football team.
Today,
the band is out playing their music from their last 2 CD’s,
cover songs, and writing and playing new songs for their 3rd
CD. You too can enjoy the great “live” country
entertainment of Rick Hays & American Steel. If you have
a special event, Rick Hays & American Steel can help make
it a successful and memorable one.
